Day 11-Enjoying Fall

Today we had another two great visits. The nannies seems to be trusting us more. They do not escort us to the play room any longer. It has been pretty cloudy and cold here, so we haven't attempted to ask permission  to go outside. When we get a sunny day we are going to try to make a run for it...or call our translator to ask the nannies.

When we first got there today, little man looked tired. He immediately put his sweet face in my hands. We are seeing a lot of this. He has started playing a game with me where he takes my hands and puts them on my face. I then speak the word "mommy". Then he puts my hands on his face and I say his name. This goes back and forth for numerous exchanges before he is on to the next thing.

Most days we pass a few other "groupas" either in the hallway or outside. They always look up at us and say "mama and papa" and then wave. This is one of them. They are so precious. One even ran up and held Adam's hands one day.
After lunch we took a walk around this centrally located courtyard. The weather is beautiful and all the trees are changing color. This is such a foreign thing for us, coming from AZ. It is absolutely breathtaking!

When we arrived for the second visit, we noticed a similarity little man has to his soon to be big brother. Awesome nap hair!
Just as we were getting ready to leave, we started to redress him. We propped him up and he started to wiggle. We helped him wiggle some more and he got the biggest smile on his face. Our little man loves to dance!
Still waiting for our confirmation call to tell us we have an official court date. Hoping to hear soon!

Day 10-Building Memories

"Nigel" continues to get more and more excited each day we come to visit him. Even from across the room you can see his face light up with a beautiful smile.

Today we brought out the beach ball and little man loved it! He got so excited!

Here are some precious faces I just had to share!

This is my most favorite moment so far. Little man got really tired at the end of our first visit. He let me hold him and quickly fell asleep in my arms. Pure bliss!

Little man crawls with such purpose!
This is the nice restaurant we have found that is across the street from our apartment. The menu is in English, which makes ordering so much easier.

Day 9- The Gift of the Nanny

We had another great day of visits. He shows excitement every day when we arrive. One challenge we are running into is that the nannies change every day. So when we arrive we have to go through various charades and even a phone call to our translator to clarify our intentions for the day.

When we arrived for his second visit, he had just gotten up from his nap. (We are learning he is a bit cranky when he wakes.) They sat down to give him a snack, then they looked up and gestured to me, asking me if I wanted to feed him. I was so surprised. I have heard so many stories where nannies won't let adoptive families even watch them feed the children, and here I was getting to feed him!

They took a roll and broke it into pieces. Then they put the pieces in like a teacup of milk/formula. Tasty!

Our boy is an eater! He started fussing if I was moving too slowly.

He is so much more advanced in so many areas then we were expecting. Most kids his age are still being fed through bottles!
This is how he gets bundled up just to walk down a hallway....an indoor hallway that is.

Can't wait to see this little guy in a swim suit!

Day 8-Joy in the Small Things

Today was our second day of visits. When we arrived at his room we noticed he was in a little walker. He saw us and perked right up. He got a huge smile on his face and wheeled his little walker right over, bumping into the doorway. It was so wonderful knowing that he got excited to see us!

Here is the precious video of him playing in the balls. Every moment we spend with him brings more and more joy!

Here are some pictures from todays visit.

He loved bubbles!

Today we also splurged and purchased two small pillows and bath towels. Our apartment is less then perfect, but it has three large perks. It has WIFI, a washer and it is cheap. So we will suffer a few discomforts to benefit us in the end.

We are missing home like crazy, but know we are one day closer to becoming a family of five forever!
